Today, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli occupation officials' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday, calling on the occupation government to stop its illegal actions.
The Pakistani newspaper Dawn quoted a source in the Pakistani Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement today: “Al-Aqsa Mosque is a sacred site revered by Muslims all over the world,” noting that the occupation officials’ raid fuels an already tense situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The ministry called on the occupation government to stop its illegal actions, and to respect the sanctity of Islamic religious sites in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The statement affirmed "Pakistan's strong support for the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people," reaffirming Islamabad's call for a viable and independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations and Organization of Islamic Cooperation resolutions.
