Large police forces entered the village of Ara in the north this evening (Friday), where the celebrations for the release of the prisoner Karim Younes, who murdered the soldier Avraham Bromberg 40 years ago, continued since yesterday.
The police ordered the residents to take down the Palestinian and Fatah flags that had been hoisted at the site, and announced the dispersal of the event. After that, a limited force remained in the compound for standby purposes, but the revelers dispersed independently from there.
Already yesterday, a police force entered the village under the command of Sen. Yaniv Ronan, deputy area commander Menashe, and warned the family not to wave Palestinian flags.
Following the arrival of the police, the flags were taken down for a little while, but were later put back up.
A similar event is expected in about two weeks, on January 19, after another prisoner, Maher Younes, is released from prison, who is Karim Younes' cousin and partner in the murder squad of the soldier Avi Bromberg.

Karim Younes was released yesterday after 40 years in prison following Bromberg's murder.
Upon his release, he returned to his village, Aara, where the residents celebrated him.
The celebrations took place despite the instructions of the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, who said that he would not allow their existence.
Yunus, for his part, clarified his intentions for the future even at the time of his release, "I and all the prisoners are ready to sacrifice even more for Palestine and its freedom."
