The Peruvian National Police confirmed this Tuesday that one of its members, whom it identified as José Luis Soncco Quispe, died on Monday night after being burned, presumably by protesters, while on patrol in Juliaca, Puno region.
Police said Soncco was attacked by "unknown subjects."
With this agent, there are already 18 people who have died in the context of the demonstrations in Puno since this Monday.
Of these, 17 were civilians.
