At least 12 people have been injured after clashes between police and protesters this Wednesday in Cusco, Peru, reported the director of Health Intelligence for the town, Darío Navarro, in an interview with TV Peru, the country's public television .

Navarro indicated that among the injured there are eight civilians, two of them with gunshot wounds and another from pellets;

"We are on red alert," said the official.
