Latakia - SANA
The branch of the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics in Lattakia announced the launch of the fourth edition of the mathematical modeling competition for children and adolescents, at the conclusion of a scientific workshop on mathematical modeling that was held today at the headquarters of the branch of the association.
The head of the branch, Engineer Maryam Fayoud, explained that the competition attracts young minds, to develop ways of mathematical thinking, by linking mathematics with reality and how to benefit from the computer in this field.
Fayoud added: The competition includes scientific axes that are presented this year for the first time to young age groups, which contributes to building a unique scientific generation that masters the mathematical approach.
In turn, the scientific supervisor of the modeling club in the association, Dr. Muhammad Khair Muhammad, indicated that the competition begins with training workshops, where the target groups will be divided into three age groups. The preparatory stage includes the axes of modeling using differential equations and simulating models of growth and decline in different fields. The third category is the secondary stage and includes modeling using artificial neural networks, the neural prediction model to solve complex problems.
