Police officers who arrived at the scene arrested the suspect and at the end of the week he was brought to an extension of detention at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court.
The police representative said that the suspect caused the fire at Wolfson Hospital by setting fire to a hospital cart with sheets on it and even added items of paper to intensify the fire.
A security guard of the hospital located the suspect according to his description, detained him and he was arrested by the policemen who arrived at the scene.
As mentioned, the fire itself was extinguished by the hospital teams that were called to the scene while evacuating patients.
According to the police representative, the suspect was interrogated and during his investigation linked himself to the location and the arsonist.
The suspect's attorney claimed that the client had a mental background and asked to be sent for a psychiatric examination.
Judge Or Memon, who extended his detention by four days, noted that a review of the investigation file shows that there is a reasonable suspicion against the suspect for committing the crimes attributed to him and that there is evidence of a high degree of intensity and ordered that the district psychiatrist prepare a preliminary opinion regarding the suspect.
