Hundreds of Germans demonstrated in Munich yesterday to protest the decision of their country's government to provide the Kyiv regime with German "Leopard 2" tanks.
RIA Novosti reported that Munich residents staged a demonstration in the streets of the city, chanting anti-war slogans and demanding a diplomatic solution to the crisis, and carrying flags with the image of the dove of peace.
The protest was organized by the "Munich Rises" peace initiative, which calls for building a world free of weapons and sanctions.
Political expert Ruslan Ostashko commented on his Telegram channel on Berlin's decision to send tanks, saying: "It is sad that these people do not decide the policy of their country. The master of Europe has already spoken and decided everything for everyone."
Yesterday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz agreed to supply 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, and to allow other countries that have the same model to transport tanks to Kyiv.
Russia's ambassador to Germany, Sergei Nechaev, described the German decision as a very dangerous step, which will move the conflict to a higher and more dangerous level of confrontation.
