After the security forces thwarted a terrorist cell of the Islamic Jihad in Jenin, tonight (between Thursday and Friday) a red alert was activated in the settlement of Zikim, Kibbutz Karmia and in the city of Ashkelon.

"Ticking bomb"
The IDF, the Mageb and the Defense Forces operated in the refugee camp in Jenin to thwart a cell that planned to carry out attacks, including the possibility of attacks in the rear. As part of the operation, nine Palestinians were killed, among them terrorists who fired at the forces.
Following the activity, the Palestinian Authority announced that it was ending security coordination with Israel and the security system was preparing for an escalation.
