For three days, from February 8 to 10, the Créteil Criminal Court will almost have to do some judicial archaeological exploration: it will look into the case of a school, the Institut Aubert, which has allegedly been infiltrated by the Scientology, twenty-five years ago.
Created by Ron Hubbard, and which appeared in France in 1959, this movement is still the subject of the keenest attention of Miviludes (Interministerial Mission for Vigilance and the Fight against Sectarian Aberrations).
The facts date back to October 1998. The Institut Aubert, a non-contract private educational establishment located in Vincennes, had given rise to several reports because of worrying methods which were applied there.
After a preliminary investigation, a judicial investigation had been opened for “fraud in the provision of services, misleading advertising and concealed work”.
