This ironic quote is attributed to Henry Kissinger who wondered about the lack of direction and incarnation of this strange political object that is the European Union.
Europe came to Washington on Tuesday with two phone numbers but only one voice.
This is at least the message hammered home by Bruno Le Maire and his German counterpart Robert Habeck, the vice-chancellor, green, during this unprecedented duo visit to the American capital.
Objective of the representatives of the two leading economic powers of the Old Continent: to defend the interests of the EU against the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act), this massive plan of subsidies for the energy transition adopted this summer by the American Congress, described as
"aggressive"
by Emmanuel Macron during his visit to the White House in December.
