"We hear cries from the direction of the ruins, under which there are still trapped people," says Capt. Hila Levy, who was sent to the Israeli delegation • She has extensive experience in rescues, and rescued a woman herself from the ruins • "The sights are difficult but it is a great privilege, we give hope to the people"

Capt. Hila Levy, was jumped from the MP course straight to the Israeli aid mission to Turkey.

She used to be an officer and fighter in the rescue brigade, which is her profession.

Therefore, instead of going on a course, she rescues people under the many ruins as a result of the deadly earthquake in Turkey.

While scanning the destroyed buildings and looking for signs of life, she says: "We are in a central neighborhood in the Turkish city of Kahramanmaras, but what is important is the destruction around me. It is a terrible sight because all the buildings here have collapsed. We were prepared for what we see here, but only when you reach a falling area This is a sign of how huge the event is."

She adds that "What we are doing is walking around the ruins and looking for signs of life. So far, from the moment we arrived, we have managed to rescue four people alive, so we continue to work even in the hours of darkness, because every minute now is critical and we have chances to find more people alive, so our activity is Intense and continuous. We go from building to building with Oketz's dogs and with other means. We also try to hear cries from the direction of the ruins, under which there are still trapped people."

When asked if she managed to rescue trapped people herself, she said: "Yes, I participated in the rescue of a woman who was trapped in the rubble. It was very exciting even though I didn't talk to this woman because the doctors were mainly concerned with talking to her and finding out about her condition."

Hila adds that the arrival of the Israeli delegation breathes new hope into the people who survived.

"There are people here on the street whose everything has been destroyed, who assume that their entire family is dead. They light fires to keep warm and wait for a miracle. From this point of view, we give hope to people."

Regarding the delegation's stay, Hila assumes that they will stay in Turkey for at least ten days: "Things here are not easy, the sights are very difficult, but it is a great privilege to come with our delegation and give hope to the people. It is also a huge privilege for me personally to come and I thank the IDF for releasing me before the course to take part in this expedition."
