Association of Syrian Workers in Lebanon: Unjust US and Western sanctions against Syria impede urgent aid from reaching it

The head of the Association of Syrian Workers in Lebanon, Mustafa Mansour, affirmed that the unilateral coercive US and Western sanctions imposed on Syria, which was hit by the devastating earthquake, impede the urgent aid from reaching it in this disaster.

In an exclusive statement to SANA's correspondent in Beirut today, Mansour described these measures as inhumane, which appears clearly in the face of the catastrophe of the Syrian people after the fall of the victims in a devastating earthquake, the repercussions of which are still before everyone, criticizing the policy of double standards in dealing with this disaster between Syria and Turkey.

Mansour added, “While we are saddened and considering our affliction to be the same in Syria and Turkey, we find that at a time when aid is rushing to Turkey, we find that countries and governments in the Western world that claim civilization distance themselves from the catastrophe that befell the Syrian people and look with one eye and use double standards in a scandalous and shameful scene.” humanity.

For its part, the Committee of Friends of the Dean of Prisoners in Israeli Prisons, Yahya Skaf, called for breaking the siege imposed on Syria under the ominous so-called “Caesar’s Law” aimed at besieging our people in Syria and subjugating it to American policies in the region.

In a statement, the committee called for participation in the sit-in in front of ESCWA in downtown Beirut next Sunday, in rejection of these unjust sanctions, noting that honorable people in the Arab and Islamic worlds and the free people of the world must move to support the afflicted Syrian people by all means, reminding that Syria was and still is the warm embrace of the Arab peoples. She also expressed her deepest condolences to the brotherly Syrian people and to the leadership in Syria for the victims who fell as a result of the earthquake that struck Syria, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
