Faced with increasingly fierce competition, France may no longer have the flourishing and dominating economy of yesteryear, but it (still) has a considerable asset: large world-class companies, capable of projecting themselves into four corners of the planet.

Our neighbors envy us this strike force, which represents jobs, innovation, know-how and an aspect of our sovereignty.

To rub shoulders with the most powerful, win markets, supplant their rivals, these multinationals have no choice but profitability at all costs.

Failing to be sure, giants like Lafarge, Pechiney or Arcelor were devoured raw, creating a considerable stir in the country.

An unfathomable mystery wants that, at home and only at home, the profits of these large groups, guarantors of their survival, cause scandal.
