Governmental and civil efforts are continuing to deliver aid to those affected by the earthquake in Aleppo governorate, and to distribute it in shelters, which numbered 173.

And the deputy head of the Executive Office of the Aleppo Governorate Council, Dr. Kumait Assi Al-Sheikh, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the work was distributed into two parts, the first to save the victims and the injured, and the second to relief work through the work of the relief committee in the province, and the opening of shelter centers in parallel with the opening of civil and community centers and economic activities that accommodated Large numbers of citizens, securing their food and medicine needs under the supervision of members of the Executive Office of the Aleppo Governorate Council, and monitoring the reality of the centers and places most in need in terms of securing the needs of the affected population.

SANA's camera monitored the process of distributing humanitarian and food aid to citizens in the sheltering center of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Prophet Elias in the Villas neighborhood, where Archbishop Avram Maalouli, Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Aleppo, explained that the citizens were received and accommodated in the church halls and all their humanitarian, food and medical needs, mattresses and blankets were provided, with the help and initiatives of the activities Individuals provided the needs of more than 1,600 people on a daily basis.

Yara Masala, who was affected by the earthquake, stated that she took refuge in the shelter center in the church, and all she needed was provided, including blankets, foodstuffs, food, and medicine, thanking everyone who helped her in her ordeal, while Saja Al-Ali explained that she left her house in the Al-Ansari neighborhood due to the appearance of cracks in its walls. She came to the shelter and got the care and attention she needed, including medical aid and meals for herself and her child.

In the Al-Asma’i School Center in the Suleiman Al-Halabi neighborhood, Ramia Al-Nasser, the center supervisor, said that she worked on opening the school to house the people affected by the earthquake who left their homes, as it contains 120 displaced families comprising 500 people, and coordination has been made with the Aleppo Education Directorate to secure blankets, mattresses, clothing and food for the arriving families in cooperation With the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, in addition to the initiatives of the people and charitable societies, providing lighting and heating for halls and rooms.

And Muhammad Radwan Haidar indicated that he was displaced from Al-Midan neighborhood as a result of the earthquake, and he felt an immediate response by those in charge of the center in terms of providing him with all kinds of necessary assistance, and this was confirmed by Dahhouk Al-Omar, who was displaced from Suleiman Al-Halabi neighborhood, expressing her thanks to everyone who helped her in this ordeal.
