The Iraqi Council of Ministers decided to donate 60,000 tons of fuel oil to Syria to help it overcome the effects of the devastating earthquake.
The council said in a statement, a copy of which was received by SANA’s correspondent in Baghdad: “The council decided in its session chaired by the council’s president, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, today that the Ministry of Oil donates sixty thousand tons of high-sulfur fuel oil to Syria.”
The statement indicated that these oils will be transported by the Syrian side from the Al-Mikhtaf area in the Iraqi territorial waters.
This decision comes within the framework of the Iraqi stand by Syria in addressing the repercussions of the violent earthquake.
