A delegation of expatriates and the Syrian community in Kuwait started a visit to Lattakia Governorate to see the areas affected by the earthquake that hit Syria on the sixth of this month, and met a number of families to find out their needs and discuss the possibility of providing them with assistance.

At the beginning of the visit, the members of the delegation met with the Governor of Lattakia, Eng. Amer Hilal. The discussion focused on the reality of the damage in the province, the human and material losses left by the earthquake, the conditions of the affected families who lost their homes and became homeless, and ways of assistance to overcome this ordeal and improve their living conditions.

Dr. Wael Nasser, head of the delegation of the Syrian community, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that everyone is well aware of the magnitude of the disaster and its repercussions, which would have caused real suffering if it had affected any of the major countries, even the richest countries, so how is the situation when we are talking about Syria, which has been and continues to suffer for more than a year. From 12 years of war and siege.

Nasser added that the visit is an expression of love and solidarity with our people in our motherland, extending a helping hand to the affected families, and providing material and in-kind assistance in cooperation and coordination with the Syrian Trust for Development team in the governorate. To carry out their daily lives and alleviate their suffering and their feeling that they are a burden on their communities, stressing that there will be larger visits and delegations during the coming period.
