Because on Saturday there was an extraordinary incident in Oberau at around 8.15 a.m.: A parked coach started rolling and crashed into a house wall.
Nobody was injured, but according to initial police estimates, there was high damage of around 24,000 euros.
There was definitely good luck in bad luck that morning.
The 32-year-old driver of the bus parked it on the main street in Oberau.
Apparently the man forgot to activate the parking brake.
As a result, the air pressure brake of the vehicle, which weighs more than ten tons, was released for reasons that have not yet been clarified.
The bus began to roll forward on the slightly sloping route in the direction of Bundesstraße 2.
Unchecked, he finally crashed into the wall of the adjoining apartment building.
The bus severely damaged the house over an area of around ten square meters, and whole sections of the wall broke out.
A structural engineer was able to quickly give the all-clear regarding the risk of collapse.
The bus was demolished, other road users were not involved.
