An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted west of the city of Latakia in the Mediterranean Sea at 11:10 pm today.
The National Seismological Center stated in a statement that the tremor was at a depth of 28.3 kilometers in the sea, 48 kilometers west of Latakia.
The center had made it clear earlier today that the stations of the national seismic monitoring network recorded 33 weak tremors, from 8 am to 10 pm, only one with a magnitude of 4.1 degrees, and therefore the seismic situation in the fault system region of the East Anatolian Fault remains within the scientific context.
