Cleaning jen influencer Cleanwithjen on Tiktok shared with her million followers her controversial decision to stop using the electric vacuum cleaner and bring back the vacuum cleaner from the 1970s to save electricity.

Amazingly, Jen showed in the video the very impressive results of using the old broom - and managed to convince many to act like her.

The tiktoker explained in the video that she is trying to cut down on expenses and especially her high electricity bill and therefore found this old cleaning tool ideal for her.

She remembered that when she was little, her grandmother would use this broom for the carpets in her house.

Jen said: "Right now I'm trying to keep my electricity bill as low as possible and I found the perfect solution to keep my carpets clean without using electricity. I chose a mechanical sweeper from Bissell and it works just like the regular vacuum cleaner for cleaning carpets and any other flooring."

She added: "Here you don't need to use electricity. The roller brushes at the bottom help collect all the dust, debris and hair. They collect everything in a very convenient way for you too. It's amazing how much it manages to collect."
