Graduates of Unit 8200 in the Intelligence Corps today published a letter addressed to the government, in which they warn of "signs that raise real concern for the integrity and security of the State of Israel."

This, following the expected legal reform.

Also, the graduates of the unit threatened to stop serving in the reserves if the reform is fully implemented.

"We, the graduates of Unit 8200, were privileged to serve in the largest and most diverse elite unit in the IDF," stated the letter, which the graduates were asked to sign with initials. "We, men and women of a variety of ages and genders, belong to different political camps and come from all avenues of society.

The unit always knew how to contain intellectual pluralism and leverage it for the needs of intelligence." The letter's writers also listed several alumni of their unit, including President Yitzhak Herzog, Justice Minister Yariv Levin, Supreme Court Judge Yitzhak Amit, and Legal Adviser to the Government Gali Beharev-Miara.

"As officers and warning officers, we wish to alert you that we recognize a troubling accumulation of tell-tale signs that rise to a real concern for the integrity and security of the State of Israel, as it has always been known: the disintegration of social cohesion, damage to Israel's economy, its stability and its image in the world as a result of the expected cancellation of the separation of powers and the damage to independence The Judiciary. Some of these damages may very soon be irreversible, while our enemies rub their hands with pleasure."

In the letter, the unit's graduates claimed that the legal reform proposals are being promoted "with great haste and without making an attempt to hold a broad and honest dialogue, while blatantly ignoring Israeli and foreign experts covering all fields of action, and even the president of the country."

All these, according to the graduates of the unit, give rise to a feeling of "conception".

The graduates of the unit also warned in their letter and said that the last time Israel behaved like this "a great disaster happened".

"It is our duty to sound the horn and warn against the 'Yom Kippur' of Israeli society," the letter warned.

Finally, the graduates of the unit believe that if the legal reform is passed in full, without negotiations and in the absence of broad agreement, they will not continue to perform reserve service.

"We will not volunteer for a country that unilaterally changed the basic contract with its citizens."
