Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, warned of the dangers of continued international silence on the policy of the Israeli occupation and its crimes and continuous violations against the Palestinian people, calling for serious international steps to protect them and put an end to the impunity of the occupation.
In letters he sent today to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council, and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mansour said that the occupation and its settlers are continuing their terror and crimes against the Palestinians, the latest of which was the martyrdom of the young man, Sameh Aktash, 37, by settlers’ bullets. 100 others were injured and Palestinian property was destroyed in the towns of Hawara, Burin, Awdla and Asira al-Qibliya near Nablus.
Mansour called on the international community, led by the Security Council, to move to support international law, stop the crimes of the occupation, and ensure international protection for the Palestinian people, stressing that the time has come to oblige the occupation authorities to the rules of international law and put an end to the injustice against the Palestinian people.
