Organizations that encourage Jews to immigrate to the Temple Mount replaced the Chief Rabbinate's sign prohibiting prayer in the compound, and stuck an identical sticker on it with reversed procedures. The fake sticker was quickly identified and removed from the scene

"According to Torah law - before entering the Temple Mount one must immerse oneself in the mikvah and remove leather shoes due to its sanctity," reads a sign of the Chief Rabbinate at the entrance to the Temple Mount.

However, the sign, encouraging entry into the holy compound, was fake and replaced another original sign of the Chief Rabbinate whose position prohibits Jews from entering the place.

The event marked a step up in the debate about whether or not Jews are allowed to go up to the Temple Mount, with the original sign bearing the inscription: "Notice and warning: According to Torah law, it is forbidden for any person to enter the Temple Mount due to its sanctity."

Supporters of Aliyah tried several times to remove the sign, and when that didn't work - they chose a creative solution.

Recently, and without anyone from security noticing - they measured the sign's dimensions and color, and even tried to analyze its font.

Some time later, a sticker of the same size and color was affixed to the sign - with a completely different ruling: "Warning and warning: according to Torah law, before entering the Temple Mount, one must immerse in a mikvah of purity (for Jews) and remove leather shoes (for every person) because of its holiness and inside Mt. The house should not go up to the Dome of the Rock plaza."

The Kotel Heritage Foundation quickly identified the stinger and removed the sticker before anyone noticed it was there.

The Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Places, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, responded to the scandal: "The foundation operates in accordance with the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and has returned the sign to its original state. The wording of the sign, which was placed on its stand for many years, was determined by Dana's advance, with the liberation of the Western Wall in 1967 by the elders of Israel."

Exactly two days passed from the liberation of Jerusalem in the Six Day War in '67 until the chief rabbis were required to discuss the issue of going up to the Temple Mount.

At the root is the desire to return to the place where the Temple was apparently destroyed and to observe the holy customs, in the face of the refusal due to the impurity of the place due to the existence of the Al Aqsa Mosque that was built in the exact same area.

Despite the ruling of the Chief Rabbinate, including the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau and the leaders of the ultra-Orthodox community, that it is not right to ascend to the Temple Mount - according to a number of rulings from religious Zionism, it has been ruled that the aliyah should be allowed and even encouraged.

The heated debate regarding the ascent to the Temple Mount has been going on for more than 50 years and has long since crossed the lines of faith.

When into the religious pulp were also added geopolitical and political concepts against the Arabs of Israel, along with words like "sovereignty" and "governance".
