The Council of the Engineers Syndicate issued a decision today that includes reducing the fees of engineers when dealing with the situation of buildings and facilities damaged as a result of the earthquake that struck the country last month.

According to the decision, a copy of which SANA received: Studies and audit fees for buildings and facilities are not collected 100 percent if the building was previously duly licensed, and the building is restored to what it was without collecting studies and audit fees, while implementation supervision fees are collected at 50 percent of the applicable tariff. with it.

In the event that the building was previously licensed and there are no plans or it is required to amend the approved plans at the request of the administrative unit, the study, audit and supervision fees are collected at 50 percent of the floor areas to be studied from the applicable tariff.

The decision stipulates that no engineering fees will be collected for what is related to the preparation and certification of technical expertise reports for the descriptive evaluation of the building prepared by the Engineering Offices Committee in the branch, at the request of the administrative unit and according to the descriptions provided, if the building was previously licensed.

And about the fees for approving the support studies, the decision stated: They are collected at the rate of 50 percent of the applicable tariff, and the fees for auditing studies are collected at the rate of one-third of the studies fees, and the fees for supervising the implementation of the support works at the rate of 50 percent of the applicable tariff when preparing studies and detailed plans for support works And the restoration of buildings and facilities studied and implemented by public or private agencies, through a committee composed of experienced and specialized engineers.

The union and its branches in the governorates, according to the decision, contribute 10 percent of the value of studies, auditing and supervision fees, so that the fees collected from those affected as a result of the earthquake become 40 percent of the applicable tariff instead of 50 percent.

The decision indicated that technical reports are prepared for descriptive evaluation, structural safety, and a study of reinforcement for the damaged elements at the request of the administrative unit.
