Iran is interested in receiving the S-400 air defense systems from Russia - something that could reduce Israel's possibility of damaging the Iranian nuclear program.
Officials in Israel and the US told the Bloomberg news agency that progress in talks on the issue is expected to accelerate the decision to attack. Russia has not publicly said that it will supply S-400 systems, but Moscow and Tehran came very close during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. According to the report, it will take two years to qualify the S-400 activity in the Islamic Republic.

The S-400 systems are capable of hitting air targets at a range of up to 250 km. "The longer we wait, the more difficult the task becomes," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week. "We waited a long time.

Russia has offered Iran "unprecedented cooperation in the field of defense, including missile, electronics and air defense assistance," US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said last Friday. According to estimates, Moscow may also supply Tehran with fighter jets: As early as next month, Su-35 fighter jets are supposed to arrive in Iran.
In recent days, concern has increased over the Iranian nuclear program after the country enriched uranium to the level of 84%.

By the end of this year, Iran will have enough uranium enriched to 60% to build ten nuclear bombs.
The Kremlin and the Ministry of Defense did not respond to Bloomberg's request.
