Drug violence: two bosses of 'Los Monos' with cell phones in their cells and a suspicious blackout

2023-03-03T23:35:18.661Z

In the Ezeiza prison, they kidnapped two cell phones used by Carlos 'El Toro' Escobar and Leandro 'El Pollo' Vinardi. When raiding the Rawson jail there was just a power outage.

The seven raids carried out this Friday morning in

three federal prisons

where leaders of "Los Monos" are housed, left a lot of material to analyze,

two cell phones kidnapped

from two of the bosses in their cells and some very strange episodes.

Although Ariel Maximo "Guille" Cantero (34) only found notes in his cell at Marcos Paz Penitentiary Complex 2, two of his sides, detained at Ezeiza Penitentiary Complex I, were more neglected.

When the agents of the Intelligence Department against Organized Crime of the Federal Police arrived at cell 11 of pavilion B of the Ezeiza prison, Carlos Damián "El Toro" Escobar (36) had an I Phone on him.

He tried to

secretly pass it on to a

fellow prisoner but they discovered it.

The sequence was also filmed.

Another of the drug traffickers housed in Ezeiza, Leandro "El Pollo" Vinardi (37), also had a cell phone in his cell, number 8 of pavilion B.

Not that the existence of these devices surprised researchers.

In fact,

it was what they were going to look for

.

What makes the finding very interesting is the kind of information that could be gleaned from phones.

But for this we will have to wait.

A photo of Ariel "Guille" Cantero, leader of Los Monos, released this Friday by investigators in the context of the raids.

For now, both devices were kidnapped and now it will be time to try to confirm the hypothesis that the leaders of Los Monos, still in prison, are the ones behind a series of violent episodes (and even homicides) through

them

. ) occurred in recent months in Rosario.

prison corruption

The operations on Friday in Marcos Paz, Ezeiza and the Rawson prison were also based on suspicions that agents of the Federal Penitentiary Service (SPF) protect and even facilitate drug traffickers to communicate freely and continue managing their

structures

.

At this point two episodes were quite significant.

The first: when the administrative offices of the Marcos Paz Prison Complex were raided, no record of the calls made by "Guille" Cantero was found, despite the fact that this information had been expressly requested in March 2022 by the Federal Oral Court. N° 3 of Rosario, who continues the execution of his sentence.

Something much cruder happened in Rawson.

There, not only holes were found

in the walls of the cells

, through which the prisoners passed their cell phones.

At 10 in the morning, when everything was ready to break into the cells of Rodolfo "Eri" Massini (43), Pablo Nicolas Camino (27),

the prison light suddenly went out

.

A lot of coincidence.

The information that the Federal Justice had was that Massini was handling his internal dispute with "Pollo" Vinardi from Rawson and even that a telephone had been hidden in the meat that entered the jail.

But

nothing could be found

.

In the foundations of the prosecutor's opinion - for which the raids were requested - it is detailed how Cantero, his partners and second lines of the gang (also prisoners) were linked to at least three transcendent acts of violence that occurred in recent months: the 12 bullets fired at a sentry box of the Marcos Paz prison, on November 13, 2022;

the murder of Lorenzo Altamirano, which occurred on February 2, 2023 near the main entrance to the Newells stadium and finally the attack on a Nuevo Banco de Santa Fe branch, on February 9.
