Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized the United Nations statement regarding the so-called destruction of Ukrainian cultural property during the special military operation, stressing that it "lacks objectivity" and an attempt to demonize Russia.
And the TASS news agency quoted Zakharova as saying in a statement today: “We have noted the statement published on the Internet by a number of specialists in the United Nations Human Rights Council regarding the so-called destruction of Ukrainian cultural property during the Russian special military operation, and this phrase does not include anything new except for accusations that are not unfounded against our country,” noting that there is another attempt by the council’s specialists to protect the Kiev regime as well as to demonize Russia.
Zakharova called on the United Nations experts to carry out their tasks in a non-politicized manner and strictly adhere to the principles of universality, impartiality, objectivity, non-selectivity, dialogue and constructive international cooperation, stressing that such bias and selectivity of some of the Special Rapporteurs of the Human Rights Council does not give them credit, but only distorts their credibility.
