It tears your heart apart: "Let's Dance" couple Renata and Valentin Lusin sadly confirm that they have lost their unborn baby.

Cologne – In February, "Let's Dance" professional dancer Renata Lusin (35) announced with a smile that she could not dance in the current season.

The reason?

She is pregnant.

Probably the best reason to only watch from the edge of the dance floor this year.

But as she and Valentin (36) announce with a heavy heart, they have unfortunately lost the baby.

"Yes, unfortunately it's true.

The baby didn't develop," confirms Renata with infinite sadness in the RTL interview.

"I can't even tell you how I feel right now.

I have to process the whole thing first," continues the "Let's Dance" dancer.

She's trying to stay strong now.

Renata would have liked to tell her fans about her miscarriage herself before it went through the media.

“Now you had to find out through the press.

I have to process all of this for myself first and I'll get back to you soon, ”as she now reveals in her Instagram stories.

The "Let's Dance" star also thanks her community for the lovely messages: "That's a great comfort to me!".

Renata and Valentin Lusin have been working on their family planning for a long time.

The "Let's Dance" couple revealed last year that they really want children.

The anticipation of her first baby was correspondingly great.

But if Renata had had her way, she would not have made her pregnancy public until much later.

Most miscarriages occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy

Most miscarriages happen - usually unnoticed - in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy (premature miscarriage), due to serious chromosomal changes and malformations, infections, stress or other factors.

A miscarriage is a psychologically very stressful situation for the couple concerned.

Many people find it helpful to exchange ideas with other affected people in self-help groups.

Those affected can find further information on the subject of “losing a child” on the website of the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA).

"Let's Dance" star Renata Lusin: "Would have wanted to tell you the news later"

But since she was firmly scheduled for the 16th season of "Let's Dance", she had to announce the baby news so early.

“I honestly would have wanted to tell you guys the news much later.

I only went to the doctor on Monday and due to a few risks I have, the doctor advised me against too much exercise and stress.

I have to take it easy over the next few weeks.

Of course, that's not possible with Let's Dance," said Renata in an Instagram video on February 15.

According to the current status, Valentin is still dancing a slow fox with Anna Ermakova as planned.

Boris Becker's daughter spoke openly about her fears in the RTL format before "Let's Dance" started broadcasting.

Among other things, her poor knowledge of German bothers her.
