Embarrassment was noted this evening (Friday) in an interview of Knesset member Kati Sheetrit, after she claimed that this week she voted in plenary on the "Mortgage Law".
Despite the Knesset member's claim - since the formation of the current coalition there has not been a vote on any law on the subject.
In an interview with News 12, Shatrit attacked the media on the grounds that it is not dealing with the important things, as she said, but with the legal revolution.
At this point, Sheetrit brought up the "Mortgage Law" when it was not clear what she meant.
"The media prefers to choose a certain side. There is a law passed this week - the 'Mortgage Law', it is a law for the benefit and well-being of the residents," she said.
Despite repeated pleas from the interviewer Netali Shem Tov, Knesset member Sheetrit claimed that she did not remember exactly, but she did remember seeing the word "Mortgage" on the voting monitor in the plenum.
It is possible that the intention of the member of Knesset from the Likud was the bill that the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Moshe Gafni, wants to promote, according to which the interest on mortgages will be frozen in order to deal with the interest rate increases of the Bank of Israel. However, this bill receives a lot of criticism and the last time it was discussed - Gafni decided together with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to postpone its promotion for a week, only that almost a month has passed since then and the bill has not been promoted at all, and has not even reached an initial vote in the plenary.
