A human rights NGO in Burkina Faso accused the army and its civilian proxies of killing at least 21 civilians and torturing women in the Centre-Nord region on Wednesday.
The government spokesman, asked by AFP, did not wish to react immediately.

The Collective against the impunity and stigmatization of communities (CISC) was seized for cases of allegations of torture, extrajudicial executions of civilians

the presumed perpetrators of this massacre would be assimilated to elements of the Forces of Defense and Security (FDS) and elements of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP, civilian auxiliaries of the army, editor’s note)
”, according to a press release from this NGO.

The toll would be twenty dead, including a woman and three children.
Seven women are said to have been injured and three people are missing
, ”says the NGO, which claims that a new body, that of a man, has been found.
Burkina Faso has been confronted since 2015 with attacks by jihadist groups linked to Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State which are multiplying and have left more than 10,000 dead - civilians and soldiers - according to NGOs, and some two million displaced.
