Tragic news from southern Bavaria: On Saturday afternoon, a 19-year-old was rescued dead from the Mangfall Canal near Rosenheim.
Rosenheim – As the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South wrote in a press release on Monday afternoon, March 13, the body of a young man was recovered from the Mangfall Canal near Rosenheim on Saturday, March 11.
The background is still completely unclear.
19-year-old dead recovered from Mangfall Canal - so far no evidence of crime
According to the police, a witness became aware of a lifeless person in the water of the Mangfall Canal near Klepperstraße at around 5:10 p.m. on Saturday.
The police were immediately alerted.
A patrol crew then pulled the body of the young man out of the sewer – but he was already dead. The police report says: “Unfortunately, attempts by the officers to revive them before the emergency doctor arrived were unsuccessful, only the death of the man could be determined .”
The permanent criminal service of the Rosenheim criminal police initially took over the investigation.
In the meantime, these are being continued by investigators from the responsible Commissariat K1.
There is currently no evidence of a crime, it said.

19-year-old was reported missing – investigators assume misfortune
The identity of the dead youth was quickly clarified, since over the weekend relatives of the young man had reported him missing.
As to the cause, the press release states that "the investigations by the police and an autopsy at the Institute for Forensic Medicine did not show any evidence of third-party negligence or the involvement of third parties in the young man's death".
One assumes a "tragic accident".
Nevertheless, the Kripo Rosenheim is looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident.
