In the last year, the construction input price index in residential construction rose by 4.5%.

The rising and falling price index (inflation and deflation) serves as an essential part in determining the Bank of Israel's interest rate which will be published next week, currently at 4.25%.

A slight change can be seen in the index due to the change in the measurement parameters last February.

The change, which occurs every two years, reorganizes the basket of basic household products in Israel: from food and agricultural produce, through fuel and taxes to flights and vacations abroad.

As mentioned, last month the contents of the basket were changed, with the most expensive item Israelis pay for being housing - 26%.

It is followed by transportation and communication - 17.5%, and in third place in the ranking - food (including vegetables and fruits) with 18.3%.
