North Korea fired an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Thursday (March 16) towards the Sea of Japan, a few hours before a visit to Tokyo by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, according to the Seoul army.
"Our army detected a long-range ballistic missile fired from the Sunan area in Pyongyang
," South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff told AFP, adding that it was an ICBM.
