Because of a brawl in a Leipzig hotel, Stefan Mross' future is on the brink of "Always Sundays".

Instead of deciding the matter quickly, ARD is now deepening the investigation.

March 30 update:

If it was initially said that the SWR, which produces "Always Again on Sundays", would stick to Stefan Mross as moderator, the scandal surrounding the moderator could now take a completely new turn.

In a statement to RTL, Südwestrundfunk claimed that the brawl in a Leipzig hotel was a "private matter" for the hit star, but the decision about his future with "Always Again on Sundays" does not seem to have been made be.

"We are in talks with Stefan Mross with the aim of clarifying the facts and the background together.

This will take a while.

That's why we can't answer any detailed questions at the moment," SWR said on March 22.

More than a week has passed since then, but there is still no clear decision.

When asked again by RTL, SWR now explains: "The situation has not changed." It is not known why the talks with Stefan Mross lasted so long.

One can therefore remain curious whether the 47-year-old will actually moderate the first episode of the new "Always Again on Sundays" season on May 7th.

First report from March 22nd:

Rust – On May 7th, "Always Sundays" will return with twelve new episodes (until August 27th) and a best-of episode (September 3rd), but Stefan Mross (47), who the hit show that has been hosting since 2005 is now threatened with an abrupt end.

A few months after his separation from Anna-Carina Woitschack (30), the trumpeter made negative headlines in mid-March after being involved in a fisticuff in May 2022.

This could now cost him his ARD moderation.

SWR disappointed by Stefan Mross?

"Always Sundays" star wanted to hide brawl

Stefan Mross does not want to be called a "Schlagerfuzzi" – and let a man who called him that know it very clearly: In a Leipzig hotel, the hit star is said to have been insulted several times by a stranger during the evening on May 1, 2022 .

At some point, the 47-year-old lost his patience: "The horses just ran away with him," Mross told bild.de about the incident, which even brought him a penalty order for assault in combination with attempted coercion.

The folk musician, who has now been convicted, apparently wanted to avoid the public finding out about the hotel scuffle.

The 47-year-old is also said not to have informed his employer, SWR, about the incident and the legal aftermath – that was not well received by the second largest broadcaster, ARD.

SWR discusses with Stefan Mross "always on Sundays" future - "clarify the facts together"

Stefan Mross and SWR are currently in talks.

After the breach of trust, it should be clarified whether the pop star is still suitable as a moderator for a family program like "Always Again Sundays" after last year's events in Leipzig.

Internally, one would obviously like to know what exactly happened in the hotel: "We are in conversation with Stefan Mross with the aim of clarifying the facts and the background together," bild.de quoted an SWR spokeswoman as

Despite everything, will Mross open the "always on Sundays" season in May?

It seems so at the moment - but if the trumpeter makes negative headlines again, he could have lost his last chance.

A prominent colleague of the 47-year-old also has to worry at the moment: After she injured herself during the tour rehearsals, Helene Fischer's (38) hit fans are demanding that "circus numbers" be avoided in the future.
