After the beating and the violent breakdown of his investiture as Minister of Security,
Sergio Berni tries to stay in office with the minimum credit he has left.
This Tuesday morning he spoke with Axel Kicillof in a tense political environment, although without immediate resignation evaluations.
Early, the governor went to Navarro for the presentation of micro-enterprises.
Previously, he spoke with his minister.
Kicillof remains safe from the discussion of insecurity in the Province.
Now also, with the focus on the murder of the bus driver Daniel Barrientos that provoked the attack on the minister, when he tried to talk with workers of bus lines in protest.
For now, Berni will continue as a fronton to receive the attacks due to the lack of security over the goods and lives of 17 million Buenos Aires residents.
There is no prepared alternative plan, for the moment.
Kicillof makes silent consultations.
The situation is unstable.
They admit it in the very force that Berni commands.
In the meager moment of reflection, after the attack, while he was being treated for a maxillofacial fracture and polytrauma at the Churruca Hospital, he planned three moves to maintain his position.
He rotates his face to the depth of his pride, after the cure, he did what he knows:
he stood before cameras and microphones to show attitude.
He referred to that of the "soldier who dies standing up" and a series of accusations against the National Government, that of the Autonomous City and some mayors.
Completed the first step.
This Tuesday he was in charge of sending a message inside the Kicillof government and the Frente de Todos.
“Cristina was the first person who called me and it was in solidarity.
She went to bring peace of mind to my family and that we are going to get ahead in the best way, as we always did, ”she explained in statements on the radio.
The vice president is still her protective arch.
It is a gravitating piece in the attack on President Alberto Fernández.
A few minutes after the blows received in General Paz, she confronted Anibal Fernández for sending police officers to the Conurbano.
Before her, she was dispatched with her predecessor, Sabina Frederic.
If they throw it out, that flamboyant flame over the Casa Rosada would lose all intensity.
Kicillof should ask Cristina Kirchner for authorization to kick him out.
At least it's the encrypted message the military doctor sent.
Is it enough to escape the ridicule of dismissal?
With the first two movements he ensures to save time.
But he is missing one last chapter in his strategy:
retaining power and authority over the 90,000-strong force.
Berni maintains the support of the police chief, Daniel "Fino" García.
He sent him to witness the interrogation of the detainee for the death of Barrientos.
He is wary of a plot.
"I don't know if they didn't throw a dead man at me," insists the minister.
Who would be interested in harming him?
The list is long.
As much as the conspiratorial imagination that the minister finds at every step.
At that point, returning to the urgency of his strategy to keep the position, it has to do with the structure under Garcia.
And, especially, of the lower bodies in function of street service.
In September 2020, the mutiny -due to better wages and working conditions- of the NCOs and young officers led to a break in the chain of command.

So, Kicillof even evaluated the movement of his cabinet member.
This time, the social and political context is overwhelming for Berni's claims of intangibility.
Even the mayor of Rosario, Pablo Javkin, turned his appreciation towards Buenos Aires and drug trafficking.
He denounces that the illegal substances are not produced in the city of Santa Fe but that they "come from the suburbs" of Buenos Aires and "in planes."
There are symptoms of exhaustion with the character.
