An adopted man discovered that his wife of the past six years is actually... his biological sister.
This couple shares two children and the man discovered his biological connection to his wife only after she fell ill and had to undergo a kidney transplant.
The medical procedure the two went through revealed that their DNA matches and indicates that they are siblings.
The man shared his story on Reddit when, according to his post, he was adopted and had no contact with his biological parents and therefore did not get over the fact that he was married to his sister.
The fiasco came to light after the man underwent several tests to find out whether or not he was suitable to donate a kidney to his wife.
He was found to be a perfect match, when one of the tests included analyzing his DNA.

"Just after our son was born, my wife got sick and needed a kidney transplant. We checked her relatives and none of them were found to be a match."
The man was sure that he too would not be found compatible for his wife because there is apparently no family relationship between them, in any case he decided to undergo a test just to be sure.
"I got a call a day later and they told me I was compatible," he said.
The doctor advised him to do additional tests and he agreed: "I didn't think too much about it."
But after the results came from the tissue tests he did, the man realized that he and his wife were unusually compatible.
The tests actually concluded that there is a biological relationship between the couple and that they are probably brothers, a scenario that was found to be far-fetched but was indeed confirmed later.
"I don't know how I will continue from here," the man concluded in a post that was later deleted, "she is my wife and the mother of our children. This post will be deleted but everything is true."
