So, like a prehistoric man, we Googled.
On his LinkedIn page, we learn that David Holz studied applied mathematics at the University of North Carolina;
that he spent a year at the Max-Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology developing algorithms to map rat brain cells;
that he then worked at NASA's engineering department on LiDAR (the equivalent of radar but which uses pulses of infrared light instead of radio waves) to carry out atmospheric studies of Mars and Earth ;
that he founded a company called Leap Motion, specializing in hand tracking technology in order to develop digital interfaces… All that before founding Midjourney, which has been making its mark for a few months…
