It couldn't be for
Santiago Ponzinibbio
.
The Argentine (30-7) fell by knockout in the third round against
Kevin Holland
(24-9) in the early hours of this Sunday
,
at UFC 287 that took place in Miami, United States.
Although the native of La Plata always went to look for the victory,
he suffered the physical differences against the American, who took advantage of his advantages.
It is that Ponzinibbio put pressure, walked in front but was not able to save the difference in size with Holland, who knew how to keep his distance and have the fight under control.
The man from La Plata, forced to go to the clash after his rival punctuated him permanently, only managed to connect a few blows to his rival's face.
And Holland, already in the first round,
had managed to knock down Ponzinibbio with a blow to the chin, who was saved by the buzzer.
However, he did not have the same luck in the third round.
A left-handed crochet from the American dried up the Argentine when he wanted to look for the finish, knowing that he was below on the cards.
Ponzinibbio fell automatically and, there,
Holland went with everything to finish him off.
He landed one more right hand on the ground and the referee quickly stepped in to call the fight off.
The American celebrated and the player from La Plata had to leave with defeat.
Holland knocked out Ponzinibbio.

"We are already home. The good thing about being at home. Thank you all for the support before and after. Obviously, I couldn't give them the victory, that result that I wanted. I knew that Holland was complicated, I knew that he has a difficult reach
to deal.
The strategy of the fight was being carried out, I was starting to find it, I was hurting him with the low kicks but hey, he
caught me with that blow",
Ponzinibbio expressed after the fight, through his Instagram stories.
"I was not knocked out. In my head I thought that I could continue, then I will have to analyze it, but hey.
The fight is over and I am left with that bitter feeling. We will continue forward as always and as I have done all my life. Thank you all for the love, the stamina, you know you make the difference and it's because of you that I'm up there. We
're going to come back stronger than ever and keep putting in and showing the Argentine eggs.
Thank you all", closed the man from La Plata.
Kun Agüero's visit before the fight
Before the fight, Ponzinibbio received a visit from Kun Agüero, who went to watch the fight and give him his support while the man from La Plata waited his turn to go out into the octagon.
"It's the first time I've come here,"
the former soccer player told him, to which the fighter replied: "It's good. It's fun.
It's the Roman Colosseum today."
As a token of appreciation for the visit, Ponzinibbio gave Kun a shirt from his team that had the footballer's name stamped on the back.
"Now I am a coach,"
said the ex-soccer player between laughs.
