The crisis triggered by the debate on pensions has now changed in nature to the point of going beyond this single subject.

It reveals the absence of a majority in Parliament.

It also coincides with an explosion of violence which is unfortunately not the exclusive fact of the “black blocks” and receives the approval of a disturbing proportion of our fellow citizens.

The underlying reasons for this situation stem from the difficulty that political leaders have in explaining the gravity of the situation and the resulting denial of reality among a large majority of French people.

But the most serious is the general discredit of political action which hinders the normal functioning of democracy.

When a politician speaks, the French no longer believe him.

This is why, even if the mobilization in the street ended up waning, the political deadlock would persist, preventing any reform, even the most modest.
