In the shadow of the stormy weather, throughout the country preparations are being made for the traditional Mimona celebrations that will take place this evening. A large demonstration is expected in front of the compound in Hadera where the Prime Minister will arrive, and for the first time in the history of the State of Israel - the appointment will also be noted in the Knesset

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will tonight (Wednesday) celebrate the Mimuna holiday at the Beit Eliezer community center in the city of Hadera. The Beit Eliezer neighborhood, the largest neighborhood in the city, is named after Eliezer Kaplan, the first minister of finance, after whom Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv is also named - the epicenter of the protests against the revolution Legal. The large neighborhood sits on the ancient Roman road from the Antipater Fort in Yarkon National Park to Caesarea, where the Netanyahu family's private mansion is located. At the same time, a large

protest is expected to take place outside the compound in Beit Eliezer, where crowds of people will come to demonstrate against Prime Minister Netanyahu and the legal revolution. "Saving democracy also in Mimona", "We will haunt you both in the dream and in Folleta", are just some of the chants that have been published on social networks in the last few hours.

The leisure center in question at Beit Eliezer has, as of now, become a fortified and guarded facility.

Fences were installed around it and bouncers, policemen and other security forces were stationed around it since yesterday.

The main concern is to create a proper separation between the crowd that will come to express support for Netanyahu and demonstrators that will come to protest against the legal revolution that he is leading.

Prior to the event, messages from both camps were published on social media that promised presence at the site, messages and calls that the police followed with concern.

After six years, Prime Minister Netanyahu is again celebrating his appointment in Hadera.

Last year Netanyahu celebrated as usual with his wife Sarah at one of his supporters' Or Akiva.

A year earlier, in 2021, the Prime Minister celebrated at the home of his party member, then MK, Osnat Mark, in Ma'ale Adumim. The last time the Netanyahus attended a Mimona event in Hadera was in 2017, at the home of the Levy-Gabai family.

This time the format is a little different.

Instead of a small and crowded house, the event with Netanyahu's participation is defined as a mass event that was initiated and organized by the deputy mayor of Hadera and the chairman of the municipal association "Panai Ha'ir", Shlomo Bozgalou, and the mayor's assistant Nir Ben Haim, who is acting as the mayor.

This is because the mayor, Brigadier General Tzvika Gendelman, is fighting for his innocence of the crimes of fraud and breach of trust with which he is accused in court - which has meanwhile suspended him from his position.

The city of Hadera is known as a distinct Likud stronghold.

In the elections for the current Knesset, the 25th Knesset, 38% of the city's residents voted for Likud - more than any other party, by a considerable margin.

In the Beit Eliezer neighborhood, which has tens of thousands of residents, support for Likud and Netanyahu was even stronger, where 42% voted for the party in the last election, almost three times more than the percentage of voters for the Yesh Atid party, which won 16% support in the neighborhood.

The Beit Eliezer neighborhood, which was founded as an agricultural settlement in the early fifties of the last century, is today the largest neighborhood in the city, and in fact - the neighborhood is larger than a significant amount of cities in Israel, where about 30 thousand residents live in over 7,000 housing units.

East of it, the construction of another 6,000 units is planned to double it. According to the "Madelan" website, the neighborhood is ranked in socioeconomic cluster 5; 53% of the population in the neighborhood is defined as "blue collar"; 58% of it - without a high school diploma; 80% of its residents own an apartment owned by them.

For the first time in the history of the State of Israel - appointed in the Knesset

For the first time since the country was established at that time in 1948, Mimona celebrations will also take place this year in the Knesset.

A traditional Moroccan tent will be set up in the Knesset plaza, and all Israeli citizens, public figures and ambassadors, including the Moroccan ambassador to Israel, will be invited to it.

The tent will be decorated according to the best of tradition, and colorful kaftans and traditional clothing will be available to the guests.

Tables with sweet words will be placed in the celebration complex, and the Knesset will host authentic musical ensembles that will entertain you with the playing of instruments from North Africa, with the best songs in the Moroccan language.

Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana, son of Moroccan parents, said: "As a child, I always loved celebrating the Mimona, the warmth, the sounds and the flavors. I am happy for the opportunity to bring voices, sounds and colors to the tabernacle that it never had before. The opening of the tabernacle to all the people of Israel in Mimona is An expression of brotherhood among the people and the fact that the Knesset is the home of all the citizens of Israel."
