The controversial exclusion of congressmen Justin Jones and Justin J. Pearson for an anti-gun protest became a drama in the United States

For the third time since the Civil War, two legislators have been ousted from office in the United States.

Representatives Justin Jones and Justin J. Pearson, both black, were removed in a controversial session after participating in a protest to demand greater control of arms sales in the State of Tennessee.

The political storm began with the shooting at a private school in Nashville on March 27, in which six people died.

The massacre sparked student protests, one of them at the gates of the local House of Representatives.

During the March 30 session, three Democratic legislators interrupted the legislative session to shout chants against gun violence.

In response, on April 6, the House of Representatives, with a majority Republican vote, approved the removal of Jones and Pearson.

The third legislator to participate in the protest, Gloria Johnson, did not receive enough votes against her.

She later declared that she had been spared from being expelled because she was white.

The move sparked a new wave of protests.

One day after the recall vote, Vice President Kamala Harris met with the sanctioned Democrats.

The collective pressure had an effect and this week both representatives were reinstated in their positions.

In Jones' case, a special election will be held to replace him, but he too can run.
