Supreme Court allows settlement to proceed that would cancel $6 billion in student debt

An arrangement that will allow the debts of thousands of students to be canceled may go into effect after the Supreme Court declined to block it on Thursday.

In an order, the highest court rejected a petition filed by several universities against the student debt forgiveness agreement.

This case is not related to the program of the president, Joe Biden, which seeks to cancel some 400,000 million dollars in student debt
