Former minister Patricia Bullrich requested this Friday a leave of absence from the position of president of the PRO
to face the electoral campaign
as a presidential candidate for Together for Change.
"My decision to accept the presidency of PRO was based on the conviction that I have about the importance of the party tool to strengthen democracies, in Argentina since 1994 party institutions have constitutional rank and it is the task of political leaders to honor that express mandate of the Magna Carta", started by saying the letter that the opposition leader presented to the Board of Directors of the party.
Bullrich highlighted that during his administration " a rich process of strengthening
was carried out
, not only of the party, but also together for Change", through which "
an essential strength was achieved for the great victory that we obtained
against the populism of the party government and its allies.
The former minister of the governments of Fernando De la Rúa and Mauricio Macri went on to explain that "following the lines of work" that she adopted when assuming "the responsibility of leading the PRO, and by virtue of the fact that today we are at the gates of the beginning of the campaign electoral", requests
a license to the position of president of the Pro.
"I do it
out of respect for the values that guide me
, and I must always be consistent with the truth. It then becomes
essential that my actions are clear
and that party institutions are not confused with my pre-candidacy for President of the Nation," said the leader. .
In another paragraph, and in a veiled reference to his rival in the internal party, the head of the Buenos Aires government Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Bullrich pointed out that those who exercise leadership must "make every effort to clearly separate each institution (...) without taking advantage of us of public office or supporters".
"For all these reasons, I ask for this license from the position of President with whom I feel honored, until the electoral process of the year 2023 ends, but not before thanking all the members of the party structure and my fellow presidents of the parties who make up Together for Change", concluded the former official.
