WASHINGTON – The conflict between China and Taiwan seems to be getting worse.
Chinese fighter jets are approaching Taiwan more and more frequently.

New documents from the US leaks now cast an extremely bleak light on Taiwan's situation in the conflict.
According to a US report, Taiwan's air force could be in a very bad position in the event of a military conflict with China.

reports , citing US classified documents published online.
Accordingly, those responsible in Taiwan are said to doubt that their air defense system can accurately detect missile launches.
In addition, little more than half of Taiwan's aircraft are said to be fully operational.

Beijing regards the democratic island republic as part of the People's Republic and is threatening to conquer it.

Dozens of US secret documents have been circulating on the Internet for weeks.
The 21-year-old member of the US military, Jack Teixeira, is suspected of having published them in a closed chat room.
From there, they spread further until authorities and the media became aware of them.
Teixeira was arrested on Thursday.
Secret service leaks: US government warns of possible manipulation of documents
The US government recently warned that the documents could have been manipulated.
According to the Washington Post, the US Department of Defense did not comment on the documents on Taiwan when asked.
The Taiwan Ministry of Defense said it respected "external opinions about its military readiness" and that defense systems were "carefully engineered based on enemy threats."
