The initiative was founded by a woman from Wolfratshausen.

She collects donations.

Wolfratshausen – In autumn 2022, Anette Klante called for a special fundraising campaign.

With the animal feed she collects, she wants to support people who are no longer able to adequately feed their four-legged friends due to low income, increased living costs or low pensions.

"The animal shelters in the area are totally overwhelmed because they have to take in so many dogs and cats," explains the native of Wolfratshausen in an interview with our newspaper.

With her private initiative, Klante wants to ensure that the owners do not have to give up their furry friends or even abandon them due to economic constraints.

Although Klante had received a lot of encouragement for her appeal and numerous donations of food had been made, the month-long search for a storeroom proved difficult.

Only a phone call with the chairwoman of the Penzberg animal protection association, Karin Ratzek-Endreß, brought the breakthrough.

"She was enthusiastic about the idea and immediately offered her support," reported Klante.

Ratzek-Endreß provided a feed donation box and storage space.

If the way to Penzberg is too far for you, you can drop off cans and packages every working day from 6 p.m. in "Andrea's Event Bistro" at the mayor-Grünwald-Weg 3 at the Wolfratshauser train station.

The accountant and restaurateur Klante works there at the bar.

But that is not a permanent solution.

"We want to create a long-term contact point in Wolfratshausen," says the 54-year-old.

The first issue of animal feed to the needy will take place this Thursday, April 20, from 12 to 1 p.m. in the former Penzberg dairy building at Christianstraße 8.

In addition to bags and containers, those collecting the animal are asked to also present a table ID card, bank statement or proof of pension and a vaccination certificate for the animal.

Klante is happy that her initiative got rolling thanks to many supporters.

"I've been around animals my whole life and it will stay that way," emphasizes the owner of a cat.
