Although several metro stations serve the Eiffel Tower, none are located near the monument.
All day long, we see thousands of tourists converging from the north or the south, looking for the two public entrances.
Seven years ago, they ended up gathering on the forecourt, below the tower, and lined up in front of the cash registers - sometimes for hours.
Since then, two revolutions have taken place: reservations on the internet and the establishment of a security barrier.
They modify the approach of the compact groups, as much as the feelings felt when one goes towards the monument.
The idea of surrounding the Eiffel Tower was born in the wake of the 2015 attacks. In order to protect a site considered a target, a 6.5 centimeter thick glass wall, presented at the time as solid, "at
all test and of absolute safety",
was installed all around the monument.
