France, a country of gastronomy that has become a kingdom of fast food

DECRYPTION - The number of restaurants there has quadrupled in twenty years. New brands are trying to take advantage of this tidal wave which spares no social class.


More than one out of two meals, away from home, is now taken in a fast food restaurant.

Nearly one in two sandwiches is a burger;

every year, 2.6 billion are sold in France!

Hamburgers, bagels, burritos, wraps, sushi, pizzas, tacos, kebabs, poke bowls… There have never been so many fast food restaurants in the country: 52,500 in total - compared to 13,000 twenty years ago -, according to 

the

firm specialist CHD Expert-Datassential.

France may well be the country of gastronomy, it is also a buoyant market for fast food, which makes the big chains and independents salivate.

New American brands are preparing to land in our country, convinced that the market there is far from being saturated.
