A 20-year-old woman was found dead by a friend in Colorado after someone threw a huge rock at her car Wednesday night, said police, who are still searching for suspects.

was on the phone with a friend while driving north near 10600 Indiana St. around 10:45 pm when the rock was thrown at her car.
Police believe
the rock was thrown from another car or from the side of the road
.
The impact killed the young woman immediately, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The phone line went silent after the incident and Bartell's friend traced her cell phone to Indiana Street, where she found the young woman dead inside the vehicle, which was off the road.

Police said they believe Bartell's death is part of a "series of nighttime crimes involving a light-colored pickup truck or SUV," from which five drivers were attacked.
Two of the drivers suffered minor injuries, while two others were uninjured.
In a Facebook post shared Thursday night, the Sheriff's Office said they no longer believe the aforementioned vehicle and its owner were involved in Bartell's death.
As of Thursday night
police had not identified any suspects.
“We are working with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Arvada Police and Westminster Police to gather information,” the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
"We believe there may be more victims."
Investigators asked the public to share any information that may be relevant to the case.
