The militancy plenary organized by the
Buenos Aires Kirchnerism
began after 11:30 on Saturday at the Ferro micro-stadium with a
message of support for Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner
and a request for her to be a candidate in this year's elections, within the framework of of a meeting that will be closed by the national deputy
Máximo Kirchner
.
"It is a more than important day, especially with the President's announcement, because a mystery has been cleared up and now we are with the expectation and anxiety of
the definitions of who will be our candidate or candidate
. We are waiting for the decision of Cristina and in the meantime we continue with these meetings to give strength to our driver," said the senator and head of the Buenos Aires PJ,
Mariano Recalde
.
After President Alberto Fernández announced yesterday his decision to decline to stand for re-election in this year's elections, the plenary takes on special relevance in the midst of the so-called "operative outcry" that seeks the candidate of the Frente de Todos (FdT) to be the vice president
With the slogan "La Ciudad con Cristina", the meeting takes place in the Ferro club's micro-stadium and began with welcoming remarks by Recalde and national deputy Paula Penacca, both members of the La Cámpora group, in front of hundreds of militants.
"This act is a clear and explicit support for Cristina, who is led by our political force, who
designed the strategy in 2019 that was electorally successful and that we want to repeat
in order to carry out the transformations that we could not do at this stage and move forward with the things that are pending and
not return to macrismo
," Recalde said.
For the senator, "
what we need now is to know what Cristina is going to do. She is the best candidate and we are going to accompany what she defines
."
Penacca, meanwhile, considered that "it is essential that Cristina can freely define what she wants to do and is the best candidate. If she finally decides to be based on the fact that it is guaranteed that she will not be prescribed, we understand that the STEP would make little
sense
" .
The classic color of the Kirchnerist liturgy took over the streets surrounding Ferro, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Caballito, which woke up with posters that said "100% loyalty to Cristina" summoning the plenary session and signed by La Cámpora de Caballito, and parades with the slogan "The city with Cristina", "CFK 2023" and "No to the ban on Cristina".
"We are going to break the ban with militancy and organization," is the title of the document that was agreed upon for this plenary session.
In it, it is warned that we are facing "a new offensive of neoliberalism on our America" implemented through lawfare against popular leaders.
"In fact, we cannot speak of 40 years of democracy because what we Argentines live in our country is far from being a rule of law and a full democracy," they denounced.
"The City of Buenos Aires has been the laboratory par excellence of the neoliberal project in Argentina for 15 years," they stressed when referring to the PRO's management in that district, first with former President Mauricio Macri and currently with Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.
This is the third meeting of this type: the first was held on Saturday March 11 in the Avellaneda district of Buenos Aires and the second took place on April 1 in Resistencia, the capital of Chaco.
