Los Angeles authorities have asked for public help to find a 13-year-old Latina, Melanie Jean Garcia, who suffers from mental health problems and disappeared on Friday night in a downtown area of the Californian city.
“Melanie has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Her family is concerned for her well-being and requests the public's help," the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
The young woman is 4'09” feet and weighs 110 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes, according to the police description.

She was last seen at 9:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of East 126th Street in South Los Angeles.
"She was wearing a black shirt, a gold necklace and a silver rosary," the Sheriff's Office added.
An enigmatic case solved
Los Angeles police found 16-year-old Latina Alinka Angeline Castañeda, who had been missing since New Year, less than a week ago.

His case took a turn when the authorities revealed a few weeks ago that Castañeda made three enigmatic phone calls to his relatives.

"[Castañeda's] sister said she sounded scared and said she didn't know where she was. She gave the impression that she was being held against her will and they wouldn't let her go. But she didn't know where she was and ended up saying, 'I have to hang'".
In March, 13-year-old Anahí Tejeda was also located in Pico Rivera, a small city near Los Angeles, at the home of a man of Hispanic origin, who was arrested on charges that were not related to the disappearance of the teenager.
Tejeda would have fled from his home after fighting with his mother.
