The investigation by the carabinieri into the murder that took place this afternoon in Oleggio (Novara) would revolve around drugs, where a 46-year-old man from Castelletto sopra Ticino, another town in the province of Novara - the distance between the two is about twenty kilometers - was mortally wounded by a local resident, a 65-year-old man stopped shortly after by the military.
In the apartment of the alleged murderer, in a social housing district of Oleggio, in via Cantoni, some 80 grams of cocaine was found.
The investigations have yet to clarify many aspects of the story, but from an initial reconstruction at the 65-year-old's home, the victim's daughter, very young but of age, would have shown up today first, and then the father.
The latter would have reached the girl just to protect her,
but the reason for the presence of the woman in Oleggio still remains to be ascertained.
A violent argument between the two men would have ignited on the doorstep of the apartment and it is possible that the 65-year-old may have harassed or insulted the very young woman, according to what is clear from a testimony, a circumstance which has not been confirmed, at least for now, by the carabinieri.
The father, who intervened to defend the girl, was hit in the side with a knife or other weapon that was not found by the carabinieri.
He walked a few meters and then collapsed to the ground.
Rescued by 118, he was taken to the Maggiore hospital in Novara where he died shortly after arriving in the emergency room.
Meanwhile, the carabinieri arrested the 65-year-old, now accused of murder.
In his past there would be police precedents and drug-related events.
The man would not have confessed to the crime, during the night the interrogations and the various checks by the carabinieri of Oleggio and the provincial command of Novara continued.
